Omicron: Regional Minister enforces strict observation of safety protocols with new directives
Regional Minister and Head of the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council (REGSEC), Henry Quartey, in view of the celebration of the Christmas festivities, has issued a number of directives to observed by the public.
The directives as contained in a press release dated December 24, 2021, is to strengthen the observation of the Covid-19 safety protocols by Ghanaians amid the celebration of the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The directives, according to the press statement, is in view of the increasing cases of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among others, the directives include:
• Compulsory wearing of face masks, washing of hands, social distancing and strict adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols in all public transports and public places.

• With immediate effect, the closure of all beaches in the Greater Accra Region before and during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
• Effective Saturday 25th December 2021, all passengers without face masks must not be allowed to board Amy means of public transport.
