The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has described as a scam, an application form titled ‘Opportunity Fund Initiative’ purported to be emanating from the Centre.
According to GIPC, the supposed application form is to provide for Ghanaian businesses – any form of enterprise being operated by Ghanaians – business grants.
But GIPC in a press release issued on Tuesday, December 22, disassociated itself from the ‘initiative’ stating the application form in circulation is fake and that it has not formulated such an initiative.
The Centre cautioned the general public to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to the scam.
Clearly, the application form has been mischievously crafted to victimize unsuspecting Ghanaian business owners, seeing the toll the Covid-19 pandemic has had on businesses.
