Power outage hits parts of the country
Parts of the Greater Accra, Western and Northern Regions of the country, on Monday, November 8, 2021, experienced power outages.
The power outage according to State-owned power transmission company, Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), in a press release issued on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the power outage GRIDCo notes, was the result of a significant disturbance in the company’s power system.
“The power system experienced a significant disturbance with all generating units at Aboadze Enclave and Bui tripped, resulting in a power outage in sections of Accra, the Western, Middle, and Northern parts of the country,” read parts of the press statement by GRIDCo.
Restoring power supply to the affected areas and apologising for the inconvenience caused, GRIDCo assured it will continue to provide a stable power system for dependable and efficient power supply for national and economic growth.
