Accra Bourse: GCB leads equities in value and volume traded

Accra Bourse: GCB leads equities in value and volume traded

GCB at the end of trading session on Wednesday emerged as the most traded stock on the bourse leading all equities in value and volume traded.

Shares of GCB accounted for 94.66% [2,400,648] of the total value traded. The total volume traded of the equity was 600,162.

Following GCB as the next most traded stock on Wednesday, was SOGEGH with value and volume trades of GHS 101,075 and 101,075 respectively.

GOIL, CAL and MTN stocks emerged the third, fourth and fifth most traded equities on the bourse on Wednesday respectively.

A total of 721,854 shares valued at GH¢2,536,208.20 were traded on Wednesday. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 27), Wednesday’s data shows a 94.40% decrease in volume traded as well  as a 78.33% decrease in trade turnover.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) dropped 0.62 points to close trading at 2,461.46 points translating into a YTD return of -11.75%.

The GSE Financial  Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also dropped 1.12 points to close trading at  2,072.53 points, translating into a YTD return of -3.69%.
