GSE: Benchmark index closes trading on Tuesday at 2,460 points

The Ghana Stock Exchange Composite Index (GSE-CI) did not record any change for the second day running to close at  2,460.31 points representing a YTD return of -11.80%.

The GSE FSI also maintained its level to close at 2,069.89 points, representing a YTD return of-3.81%.

NewGold (GLD) ended today’s trading session as the sole  gainer as it moved up by GH¢6.60 to close at GH¢257.40.

Market capitalization of the stock market thus increased by GH¢19.14 million to settle at GH¢64.79 billion. 

In all, a total of 196,088 shares were traded across eleven (11) counters. These trades cumulated in a turnover of  GH¢191,804.04.

Summary of market activities for the month of October

Activities on the market saw a reduction in volume and an increase  in value and transactions over the same period last year.

Volume traded was 21,344,190 down 55.27% compared to September 2022.

These trades were valued at GH¢150,057,248.32, up 188.61%  compared to September 2022.

The GSE equity market closed the  month with the Composite Index and Financial Stock Index.
