SIC posts 275% year-to-date gain on stock market

Share price of SIC Insurance Limited (SIC) appreciated by 2 pesewas at close of trading on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

The share price appreciation of SIC on the local bourse on Thursday marked a year-to-date appreciation of 275 percent for the stock.

Out of 14 equities that participated in trading, SIC emerged the sole gainer, posting a closing stock price of GHS 0.30 from the opening stock price of GHS 0.28.

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) on the back of the gain in SIC equity, clinched 0.38 points to close at 2,550.98 points  representing a YTD return of -8.55%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index  (GSE-FSI) also gained 0.68 points to close trading at 2,185.64 points translating into a YTD return of 1.57%.

Market capitalization of the local bourse closed trading at GHS 62.24 billion. 

A total of 227,960 shares valued at GH¢426,116.00 was traded on Thursday.

Total Petroleum Ghana PLC. (TOTAL) accounted for 73.08%  of the total value traded whilst Cal Bank PLC. (CAL) recorded the  largest volumes traded.
