The Registrar-General’s Department says it will not be receiving new company registration applications for today, Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, 2020.
This, according to the Department via a press release is on the back of the deployment of the “upgraded electronic system in compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) as well as the implementation of the Beneficial Ownership Register.”
The Department explains that, the non-acceptance of new company registration applications for Thursday and Friday, is to allow for the testing and full operationalization of the new system.
Other services such as registration of marriages, administrative services, industrial property rights and administration of estates offered by the Department will still be carried out.
The business community and the general public can however, make new company registrations on Monday, October 5.
The upgraded electronic system is expected to unveil some new six different types of forms for Company Registrations which business registrants have to familiarize themselves with.
