Ryan Garcia dominates Emmanuel Tagoe to win by unanimous decision
Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) won in his return to boxing on Saturday night, defeating Emmanuel Tagoe (32-2, 15 KOs) by unanimous decision in San Antonio.
Garcia dominated the fight, but didn’t get the knockout he had predicted.
Ryan, 23, dropped Tagoe in the second round and badly hurt him in the tenth round. However, Ryan couldn’t put him away.
Tagoe, 33, just came to survive, moving nonstop, rarely letting Ryan land his big left hook.
The scores were 119-108, 119-108, and 118-109.
The 23-year-old Ryan Garcia has been out of the ring since his fight against Luke Campbell in January of last year. The popular Golden Boy promoted star wanted to return late last year against Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz Jr, but a wrist injury got in the way of the fight.
Ryan is being positioned to face WBA 135lb champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis or the George Kambosos Jr. vs. Devin Haney winner.
