Samuel Boadu expresses contentment with side’s performance against Dreams FC
Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu was a happy man as his side earned a 3-1 win over Dreams FC to move up to third place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
Boadu had not beaten Dreams since his appointment as Hearts coach, with a defeat and a draw, but his men were absolutely fantastic on Sunday to record a victory.
After only four minutes, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored the first goal for the rainbow boys, registering his eighth league goal of the season.
They showed great strength by doubling their lead in the 12th minute through Seidu Suraj. Dreams forward Agyenim Mensah scored from the penalty spot in the 45th minute to cut the lead before halftime. After the break, Hearts piilled the pressure and it paid off as Abdul Jalilu put the ball in his own net.
Speaking after the game, Boadu said, “It was a very nice game. Both teams played well. As you know Dreams are tactically good. Two matches with six goals, that’s what we expected,” coach Boadu said.
“That has been our hallmark but it’s quite unfortunate people didn’t see our goal scoring exploits but with their advice, we have really worked on it.”
The two teams will meet again in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday 14th May 2022 at the ElWak Sports Stadium.
