The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is once again cautioning the general public about making investments with unlicensed firms in the country.
SEC, a few weeks ago cautioned Ghanaians about the illegal investment activities of Chinese firms Chy Century Heng Yue Group Limited and Sairui e-commerce Ghana Limited, describing their activities as a ponzi scheme.
The recent caution by SEC follows the operation of Wiseling Online Investment Company, a Finnish-based company in the country’s capital market space without the required license.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 23, SEC stated Wiseling Online Investment Company, has not been licensed by the Commission to carry out any capital market activity including investing or trading for returns as mandated by Section 3 of the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929).
Adding the entity is not regulated by the Commission and as such the general public should be cautious about investing in its unlicensed products.
