Shatta Wale criticized for cynical tone on Sarkodie’s Bob Marley collaboration

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has received an outpouring of love and support from industry players since the release of his collaboration with Bob Marley on the song ‘Stir It Up.’

However, industry colleague Shatta Wale has been criticized by Ghanaians for his cynical tone regarding the project, downplaying the significance of Sarkodie being featured on a Bob Marley classic.

In an interview on Luv FM’s Drive Time, Shatta mockingly said that Sarkodie should be applauded for being featured by a ghost.

Sarkodie, however, has stated that he believes every person in the entertainment industry is happy about the feat, and that he nearly passed on the opportunity to work on the Bob Marley classic.

He said that when he received the email, he felt that he was not worthy to lay his vocals next to the legend and that he was really hard on himself.

The song was released on Friday, January 20, 2023, on all streaming media platforms.
