Societe Generale leads equities on the stock market

Societe Generale Bank at the end of trading session on Monday, December 6, emerged as the most traded stock on the bourse leading all equities in both value and volume traded.

Shares of the bank accounted for 59.5% (Ghs 85,814) of the total value and 56.3% (71,512) of the total volume traded. 

Following Societe Generale as the next most traded stock on Monday, was CAL Bank with value and volume trades of Ghs 16,900 and 19,883 respectively.

ETI, MTNGh and GCB stocks emerged the third, fourth and fifth most traded equities on the bourse respectively.

In all, a total of 128,588 shares valued at GHS 144,193.82 was traded in eight (8) equities, an increase in trade turnover compared to Thursday’s volume  of 52,175 shares valued at GHS 123,964.77.

Meanwhile, the benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) remained flat with no  points change to close trading at 2,842.07 representing a YTD return of 46.38%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also remained flat to close trading at 2,089.21 also translating into a YTD return of 17.19%. 

As a result, market capitalization remained unchanged to close at  GHS 64.22 billion representing a growth of 18.11% in 2021.
