We are completely focused on Ethiopia and South Africa games, says Milovan Rajevac
Black Stars Head coach Milovan Rajevac has said he is completely focused on winning against Ethiopia and South Africa.
The Black Stars will next month conclude the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with games against Ethiopia away and at home to South Africa.
Black Stars in a bid to qualify and top Group G beat Zimbabwe twice this month in the space of three days.
Speaking to the Ghana Football Association media team on Monday, Milovan Rajevac said:
“Now our complete focus is on our next two matches which is very important and as I say, every next match is the most important one.”
“These two victories will mean nothing if we don’t deliver good performance and results in the next match,” Milovan said.
“Our focus is completely on those matches and it is going to be a short time in camp but we will prepare well and we have the support from everyone around. We also hope everything goes well and achieve our target which is winning the next two matches and qualify for the final round.”
Many have tipped Ghana and South Africa to win their respective penultimate games to set up a thrilling finale in Cape Coast.
South Africa coach Hugo Broos after his side’s double victory over Ethiopia promised Ghana “a fight to the death” and Rajevac has responded saying, “This is normal because everybody wants to win so statements are statements and a pitch is a pitch.”
“We feel the same motivation and I think we are even hungrier for success so we have strong faith in our capabilities and in our unity and know what is at stake so we will do anything in our power to win these matches and go to the next stage.”
Ghana will face Ethiopia in Bahir Dar before hosting South Africa in their final game in Cape Coast.
Ghana cannot afford to drop points in any of the games as they are a point behind South Africa in the race to finish top of Group G, with the winner progressing to the playoffs.
