The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have reacted to a false circular titled Concerned Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Police Service (GPS), asserting the two national security agencies have been infiltrated by vigilantes.
In a response to the statement making rounds on social media, Director of Public Relations at GAF, Colonel Aggrey-Quashie, noted the statement is “a catalogue of falsehood and fabrications with no scintilla of truth in them.”
He denied allegations of the supposed vigilantes that have infiltrated the ranks of both the GAF and GPS planning a “coordinated ground offensive” in the Volta and Oti Regions on the night of December 6, 2020.
“This might either be an orchestration or a planted story to cause alarm among the local population,” he averred.
Colonel Aggrey-Quashie in a press statement issued on Sunday evening, December 6, also denied the re-location of “gadgets” from Accra to Ho with the aim of intimidating persons living in the Volta and Oti Regions.
He urged Ghanaians to feel free to go out in their numbers and cast their votes in the general elections.
