We need to work together to succeed as an attacking trio at PSG – Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe says he, Lionel Messi and Neymar have to find a way to work together to succeed as a front three at Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG’s acquisition of Messi made many believe the French giants would be unstoppable this season in all club competitions especially in the UEFA Champions League.
On the contrary, the club’s frontline has struggled to click with 13 matches played so far in the 2021/2022 league season.
“When you play with top with players like that, you have to share the cake so that all three can eat,’ Mbappe told RMC Sport via Marca.
“You can’t say that you’ll pass to one and not the other. You have to be smart. There will always be moments of frustration, but the only interest the three of us have is to make PSG win,” he said.
Mbappe’s frustrations this season has been clear and was even caught on camera criticising Neymar following their 2-0 win over Montpellier on March day 8 in the French Ligue 1.

The player who had been substituted was captured on Canal+ cameras telling Idrissa Gueye that Neymar ‘doesn’t pass’ to him as he does to others after the Brazilian teamed up with Julian Draxler for the second goal.
When quizzed about the situation in more detail, Mbappe said: ‘It happens sometimes. I should have thought more, but I don’t regret it. It might seem strange from the outside, but on the inside, we know how things are.
‘I have great respect for Neymar as a player and as a person. There are a lot of cameras now, but this is football and we have no problems.’
Mbappe expressed his admiration for Messi and said that it was ‘easy’ to play alongside his new team-mate Messi. ‘It’s very easy to play with Messi, really. He really understands football, always knows what to do.
‘If he has to dribble past everyone and score a goal, he’ll do it. If he has to play with one-touch, he’ll do it. He’s one of the best, if not the best.’
