YTD value of traded MTN shares on GSE reaches Ghs 250.9 million
The year-to-date (YTD) value of traded MTN stocks on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) as at the end of trading session on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, amounted to Ghs 250.9 million.
A review of the performance of the stocks of the telecom giant on the local bourse indicated that on average, the daily traded volume of MTN equities amounted to 1.93 million trades.
MTN Ghana for the second quarter dominated trading activity on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) just as was the case in the first quarter of this year.
MTN Ghana stocks continue to dominate trading activity on the GSE leading equities on the GSE in terms of volume and value of shares traded. For instance, MTN Ghana shares at the end of trading session on Tuesday, accounted for 99.4 percent of the volume and value of shares traded on Tuesday.
In terms of stock price appreciation, MTN equity has recorded a YTD price appreciation of 96.88 percentage points ending Tuesday’s trading session with a share price of Ghs 1.26 pesewas.

The market capitalisation of the telecom giant currently stands at Ghs 15.46 billion.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Stock Exchange Composite Index (GSE-CI) at the end of Tuesday’s trading session posted a year-to-date (YTD) return of 41.32 percentage points on stock prices for investors.
This is despite the flattening of the GSE-CI to close Tuesday’s trading session with 2,743.94 points.
The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also remain unchanged to close at 1,909.05 points translating into a YTD return of 7.08 percent.
Trade volumes at the end of the trading session reduced significantly as 146,577 shares valued at Ghs 184,521.65 changed hands in only Four (4) equities compared to the 496,613 shares valued at Ghs 955,432.23 traded on Monday.
There were no gainers or decliners at the close of Tuesday’s trading session.
