Public sector workers not registered with the NIA to miss salary payments starting Dec. 1
Public sector workers not registered with the National Identification Authority (NIA) and as such have not acquired their Ghana Cards will not be paid salaries starting December 1, 2021.
This is according to a public notice issued by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD).
The CAGD in the public notice stated the registration of government workers by the NIA forms part of government’s efforts to deliver secured and verified payroll services to public workers and pensioners while reducing the risk of undeserving payments or claims.
It therefore urged all government workers to ensure that they are registered with the NIA and that they have obtained their unique identity numbers or miss salary payments.
