SIC records 14.29% share price gain on stock market

SIC Insurance Company Limited [SIC] emerged as the sole equity gainer on the stock market at the end of trading session on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Share price of SIC appreciated by 14.29% to end trading at a closing price of GHS 0.08 from an opening price of GHS 0.07.

Share prices of Scancom Plc [MTNGh], Standard Chartered Bank and Ecobank Ghana [EGH] declined recording share price loss of 0.86%, 0.25% and 6.81% respectively.

Market capitalization of the stock market on the back of the three decliners fell by GHS 163.17 million to close at GHS 63.81 billion representing a growth of 17.35% in 2021.

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) lost 15.59 points to close  trading at 2,803.00 representing a YTD return of 44.37%.

The GSE  Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also lost 6.99 points to close trading at 2,082.22 also translating into a YTD return of 16.80%.

At the end f trading n Wednesday, a total of 162,916 shares valued at GHS 236,511.83 was traded in twelve (12) equities, a significant decrease in trade turnover compared to Tuesday’s volume of 8,223,945 shares valued at GHS 9,542,503.13 Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) recorded the largest share of trades, accounting for 36.6% of the total value traded.
