AFCON 2023Q: Afriyie Barnieh, Korsah dropped from Ghana squad ahead of CAR clash
Hearts of Oak duo, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Dennis Korsah among others have been dropped from Ghana’s squad ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic on Sunday.
In Otto Addo’s final 25-man squad for the game against Central African Republic, Antoine Semenyo, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Dennis Korsah, and Augustine Okrah were all dropped from the team.
Bristol City’s Semenyo reportedly picked up an injury, ruling him out of the game.Andy Yiadom and Richard Ofori also did not travel with the team to Angola to face Central African Republic.
Ghana lead the group E after picking up a commanding 3-0 win against Madagascar in the opening game while Angola beat Central African Republic 2-1.
The game against Central African Republic will played in Angola, Luanda as the Central African Republic did not have any stadium approved by CAF for qualifiers within their jurisdiction.
It is reported that the Black Stars will jet off to Japan after the game for the four nations tournament which will serve as part of preparations for the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar later this year.
