FirstBank Ghana Pledges Annual GHS 50,000 Support to Ga Mantse’s Education Fund
FirstBank Ghana has announced an annual commitment of GHS 50,000 to the Ga Mantse’s Education Fund, a gesture aimed at supporting education, skills training, and entrepreneurship development within the Ga communities.
In addition to the educational support, the Bank has also pledged a separate GHS 50,000 in sponsorship of this year’s Homowo Festival, bringing its total financial support to the Ga State this year to GHS 100,000.

The announcement was made by the Managing Director (MD) of FirstBank Ghana, Victor Yaw Asante, during a courtesy visit to the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at his palace.
“FirstBank tries to support initiatives, especially in education and health, the Ga Mantse has been instrumental in supporting the needy through education, so we thought it would be ideal to come and support the education fund he has set up,” Mr Asante noted during the visit.

He emphasized that the Bank’s support to the Fund would not be a one-off intervention but rather an ongoing annual commitment. “We have started this year and we will do same annually. Every year, we will come with at least GHS 50,000 to support the Education Fund,” he added.
Speaking further, Mr Asante reiterated the Bank’s commitment to cultural preservation, hence its additional support for the upcoming Homowo Festival – a major celebration of the Ga people and Ghana’s cultural heritage.
In line with tradition, the Bank also presented drinks during the visit, in accordance with customary practices when visiting a royal palace.
Responding to the gesture, Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, expressed gratitude to FirstBank Ghana for its support. He described the donation as a welcome contribution to the development of the Ga State, particularly in the area of education, and prayed for the Bank’s success in Ghana’s banking industry.
The Ga Mantse Education Fund focuses on innovative education, skills development, and entrepreneurial training programs tailored to the natural abilities and developmental needs of young people and adults across Ga communities.
