GSE-CI ends first trading week of the year 1.37 points lower; closes at 3,128 points
The GSE-CI stood at 3,128.86 points ending the first week of trading 1.37 points lower, delivering a year-to-date loss of 0.04% to investors.
The GSE-FSI saw no movement on the first week of trading, closing at the same level it opened.
BOPP lost a total of GH¢0.43 on the back of increased selling pressures to close this week lower at GH¢21.57 and total market capitalization declined marginally to GH¢73.88 billion.
The week ended with a significant jump in total volume traded observed, with 5,763,167 shares traded compared to the 1,065,087 shares traded the previous week.
Similarly, the total value traded spiked to GH¢8,157,247.73 as against GH¢1,722,151.97 last week.
Claiming the leading position in trading activities for the current week, MTNGH dominated the market with a traded volume of 5,638,821 shares, amounting to a value of GH¢7,894,349.40.
Trades also took place in the finance and insurance sectors, with ETI, CAL and SIC ranking among the top five traded equities for the week.
