GSE-CI posts 12.46 points decline to close at 3,049.56 points; returns 24.78% YTD

The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange dipped by 12.46 points to close at 3,049.56 points, returning 24.78% YTD.

The Financial Stocks Index decreased by 23.51 points, to close at 1,658.10 points, returning -19.22% YTD.

Ecobank Ghana (EGH) was the only price mover, losing GH¢0.42 to close at GH¢3.90.

Effectively, total market capitalization decreased by GH¢135.47 million to settle at GH¢72.87 billion.

The total volume of shares traded was 39,611 valued at GH¢97,070.03 on a trading day which saw eighteen (18) equities trade.

Trading activity declined as a 37.37% and 0.80% drop in volume and value traded was recorded respectively.

Scancom (MTNGH) traded 21,895 shares valued at GH¢32,842.50 which was 33.83% of the total value traded.

Ecobank Ghana’s (EGH) trades constituted 48.03% of total turnover while Societe Generale Ghana PLC (SOGEGH) recorded the least trades among the top 5 traded equities.
