GSE market capitalisation hits new high of Ghs 62.9 billion
Market capitalisation of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), hit a new high of Ghs 62.99 billion representing a year-to-date growth of 15.86 percent.
The recorded increase in the market capitalisation at the end of Monday’s trading session was on the back of gains made by the GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) and GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI).
GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) gained 5.51points to close at 2,759.06 translating into a YTD return of 42.10%. The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also gained 0.30 points to close at 1,930.08 translating into a YTD return of 8.26% resulting in price appreciation of four(4) equities.
On Monday, a total volume of 131,066 shares valued at GH¢233,928 was traded among nine (9) equities.
Scancom PLC. (MTNGH) recorded a significant portion of trades in both volume and value as it accounted for 62.5% and 41.7% of the total volume and total value traded respectively.
