Prez Akufo-Addo to launch Office of the Registrar of Companies on July 22
President Akufo-Addo will on Friday, July 22, 2022, officially launch the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC).
The ORC when launched, will assume the mandate of registration of businesses in the country, a mandate previously undertaken by the Registrar-General’s Department (RGD).
In a press statement by the ORC pending its launch on Friday, the RGD’s mandate going forward will be to provide services for the registration of marriages, industrial property rights, administration of estates and public trusts.
The ORC was established under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) as a body corporate with perpetual succession.
The ORC is mandated to register and regulate all types of business entities and structures in accordance with the relevant enactments governing such business entities.
