Brands manager in charge of personal and home care categories for Wilmar Africa, Maame Adwoa Markin, is excited about the project as this falls in line with Wilmar Africa’s aim to grow tomorrow’s leaders.
“We are partnering Inspire Today because we are interested in championing ‘our leadership our wellbeing’ which is our slogan for grooming tomorrow’s leaders. We want to instill in our young girls the attitude of cleanliness. That is why we provide them with our different range of alife soap and Jamaa bar and washing detergent. We believe that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body and the best way to have a healthy body is through cleanliness. This year, we have decided to also add the Fortune Margarine as we also want to promote good eating habit in our young girls. We are determined to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 which is to promote good health and well-being”. She intimated.
Founder and Executive Director for Inspire Today, Etornam Sey, expressed gratitude to Wilmar Africa for their continuous support in keeping the girl child in school.
“You will be surprised that just a girl’s inability to have access to bathing soap and washing detergent for clean clothes can prevent them from coming to school. No girl wants to walk into the classroom smelling bad because they haven’t taken their bath or could not wash their uniforms. For the past 3 years, Wilmar Africa has been consistent in supporting Inspire Today. They provide the girls with washing powder and bathing soap and this year they added their new Fortune Margarine. We are more than grateful for the support”. She explained
The International Day of the Girl, which is observed annually on 11th October, is a global platform to advocate for the full spectrum of girls’ rights. This year’s theme is “Invest In Girls Rights; our leadership, our well-being’. This is helping to respond to girls’ calls for change, and ensuring that the global community move beyond reaffirming commitments and invest boldly in the action needed to make that change.
