Benchmark index declines 1.31 points to close trading at 3,128 points
The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange recorded a decline of 1.31 points to close the day at 3,128.92 points. Thus, posting a YTD loss of 0.04%.
The GSE Financial Stocks Index on the other hand remained unchanged to close at 1,901.57 points.
The decline was on the back of a GH¢0.41 drop in the share price of BOPP after it closed trading lower at GH¢20.91.
Market Capitalization of the GSE in effect fell by GH¢14.27 million and closed at GH¢73.88 billion.
Overall, 4,014,455 shares (up 915.35%), valued at GH¢ 5,703,300.66 (up 894.45%) were traded on Thursday as eighteen (18) stocks exchanged hands.
MTNGH trades dominated Thursday’s trading session with a trade volume of 3,995,620 shares worth GH¢5,593,868.00
In second place was CAL, which traded 5,935 shares valued at GH¢2,848.80. SIC, BOPP and TOTAL followed in the activity pile to complete the top 5 traded stocks on the day.
