PSG Dominate UNFP Awards as Dembélé, Doué and Parisiennes Earn Top Honours
Paris Saint-Germain once again underlined their dominance in French football after sweeping several of the biggest honours at the 34th UNFP Awards ceremony held on Monday evening at the Palais Brongniart in Paris.
The French champions enjoyed a memorable night across both their men’s and women’s teams, with individual brilliance and collective excellence recognised after another outstanding domestic campaign.
Among the highlights of the evening was the crowning of Ousmane Dembélé as Ligue 1 Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The Paris forward, already a Ballon d’Or and FIFA “The Best” winner this year, continued his remarkable form by claiming the league’s top individual honour after another stellar campaign in red and blue.
The 28-year-old attacker has been directly involved in 16 league goals this season, scoring 10 times and providing six assists, while averaging a goal contribution every 60 minutes — the best ratio in Ligue 1. His performances have been central to PSG’s domestic dominance throughout the season.
Dembélé also picked up the award for Goal of the Season thanks to his stunning strike against Lille OSC on January 16. The French international dazzled supporters at the Parc des Princes with a sublime piece of skill before delicately lobbing the goalkeeper in PSG’s emphatic 3-0 victory. The forward scored twice in that match and beat competition from several spectacular efforts across the league to secure the honour.
PSG’s influence was also evident in the Player of the Year category, with Vitinha and Nuno Mendes both nominated alongside Dembélé. It marked the tenth consecutive year that a PSG player has featured among the finalists for the prestigious award.
Another major accolade went to Désiré Doué, who was named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year for the second straight season. The 20-year-old continues to establish himself as one of Europe’s brightest talents after also winning the Golden Boy award earlier this year.
Doué has contributed seven goals and five assists in 21 league appearances this season, impressing with his creativity, technical brilliance and explosive attacking play. The young forward also celebrated a personal milestone over the weekend by making his 100th appearance for PSG during the 1-0 victory over Stade Brestois 29, scoring the winning goal in the process.
Fellow youngsters João Neves and Warren Zaïre-Emery were also shortlisted for the award, further highlighting the strength of PSG’s emerging generation.
On the women’s side, three PSG stars earned places in the Arkema Première Ligue Team of the Season. Romée Leuchter was rewarded after finishing as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals and seven assists, while Sakina Karchaoui earned recognition for another tireless and influential campaign that produced six goals and three assists.
Defender Griedge Mbock also secured a spot after playing a vital role in PSG’s defensive solidity, helping the club register 12 clean sheets during the season.
PSG’s dominance extended to the Ligue 1 Team of the Season, where five players from the Parisian club were selected in the starting XI. Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes and Willian Pacho were chosen in defence, Vitinha earned a midfield berth, while Dembélé led the attack.
With the league’s best attack and strongest defence this season, PSG’s overwhelming presence at the UNFP Awards served as further proof of the club’s continued supremacy in French football.
